Jiwan zhang

Owner of Portland Pet Nanny

Hi! I’m Jiwan. I am certified in Pet CPR and Fear Free practices. With over five years of hands-on experience in the animal care industry across three states, including Alaska, I’ve gained a wealth of knowledge to meet pets’ diverse needs.

I hold a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, where I studied animal husbandry extensively, enhancing my understanding of animal behavior, health, and welfare.

Rain or shine, your pet’s safety, happiness, and enrichment are my priorities. I also have experience working with livestock guardian dogs and working dogs, understanding the specialized care and training these incredible animals require. I’ve worked with pets of all temperaments, using positive reinforcement to build trust and promote good behavior.

In addition to direct care, I’ve collaborated with animal nutritionists in the pet industry, deepening my expertise in dietary needs and wellness. I’ve also authored numerous pet care articles for industry magazines, covering topics like enrichment activities, behavior management, and fostering meaningful pet-owner connections.

With my unique blend of education, experience, and genuine love for animals, I’m dedicated to providing the highest level of care for your furry, feathered, or working family members.

FAQs

  • We provide services throughout the Portland metro area and most of Multnomah County, including Gresham and Troutdale.

  • We care for a wide range of animals, including dogs, cats, small animals, and even livestock.

  • We can easily accommodate pets with daily medication needs in any form, including pills, lotions, injections and subcutaneous fluids. Just provide detailed instructions, and we’ll make sure they receive their meds on time and as directed.

  • Once you fill out our contact form, we aim to respond to most inquiries within 24 hours. We’ll follow up with any questions we have about your pet’s care needs, and then we’ll schedule a complimentary meet and greet.

During this initial meeting, I’ll get to know your pet’s individual needs, routine, and preferences. We’ll go over where their belongings are located, including food, toys, and any medications, as well as any special care instructions or allergies I should be aware of. This is also when we’ll collect your keys and finalize details for your pet’s care.

After each visit, you’ll receive a visit report, keeping you updated on how your pet is doing, what activities we’ve done together, and any important notes. This ensures you stay informed and confident that your pet is receiving the best care possible.
